Free Jigsaw Puzzles
The jigsaw puzzle has fascinated young and old since around 1760, when London born John Spilsbury first commercialised the puzzle. Jigsaws were originally made by painting a picture on wood and then cutting it into interlocking puzzle pieces using a special fine tooth saw. This special saw was called a jigsaw and this is what gave the puzzle its name. Later on cardboard was more commonly used as a backing for the pictures and the pieces were cut by precise machinery. Today you can play these puzzles online like our ones below. We even have educational ones at the bottom as well as more educational games at our educational software website.
